San Miguel de Allende, a city located in the state of Guanajuato, it’s not that far from México City. This town is historically known for being the birthplace of Ignacio Allende, an historic fighter for the independence of Mexico from the Spanish rule. It has wonderful baroque/neoclassical colonial structures that make this city a wonderful place to be. All the doors are made of wood and the houses and buildings are in terracotta colors. It has the reputation of attracting artists such as David Alfaro Siqueiros who taught painting.
